Head-up display (HUD)

Visste du att Volkswagen ID.4 och Skoda Enyaq iV båda är försedda med förstärkt verklighet (augmented reality) med head-up display från Saint-Gobain Sekurit? Vad är head-up display augmented reality (AR/HUD) och hur fungerar det? Head-up display augmented reality (AR/HUD) är den senaste utvecklingen av HUD.

Vindrutan är huvudspegeln i HUD-systemet. Vindrutans design och kvalitet har en inverkan på den övergripande kvaliteten på HUD-systemet. Förare ser en virtuell bild, inte en platt statisk bild på vindrutan, utan som "svävande" över motorhuven på ett genomsnittligt avstånd av cirka två meter

Evolution inom HUD

• Standard HUD
- bildavstånd ca.2 m
- virtuell bildstorlek  200 x 70 mm
• Big HUD
- bildavstånd 2-3 m / 4-5 m
- virtuell bildstorlek ca. 400 x 100 mm / 700 x 370 mm
• Augmented reality (AR) HUD
- bildavstånd > 7 m
- virtuell bildstorlek 1800 x 900 mm

HUD is applicable on almost every feature. This makes it very interesting because windscreens are becoming more and more complicated. HUD is compatible with features such as Climacoat and IR (infrared) reflective coatings.

What are the benefits of an HUD system?

• Displays (project) images (arrows, symbols etc.) and information directly into the driver’s line of sight such as: lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign and over speed warning.
• No extensive re-focusing of eyes necessary anymore. For instance, to the digital instrument panel.
In short, safer driving: eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

Besides the ID.4 and the Enyaq iV the Audi e-tron GT and the Audi Q4 e-tron are also equipped with Saint-Gobain Sekurit head-up display and will be available via Sekurit Service soon.
